Liz Claiborne Reports Above Average Sales This Month

Eighteen (62%) out of twenty-nine Liz Claiborne stores across the country reported that sales were above average this month compared to last month. Fourteen (48%) stores continued to report having excess inventory of jeans, winter clothing and jackets. When asked whether they believed that the weak housing market and economy was hurting their store, only nine (31%) reported that it did. Twenty stores (70%) said that business was not affected by the perceived slump in economy. 

Teen Girls and Women Are Most Avid Skechers Customers

TickerMine polled shoe sellers across the country, including Shoe Pavilion, Nordstrom, Famous Footwear, The Sports Authority, and Sketchers stores, and learned that Perfect Canvas is the best-selling main Skechers shoe category for 41% of stores. Perfect Styles Molded was the next most popular category (38%). Publicly Traded was also a hit (21%). Skechers are most popular with teen girls (41%) and women (35%). The most popular shoe this season is the Women's Heatwave (21%), followed by Women's Flappers (18%) . Women's Street Cleats, Boys' Urban Track, and Women's Calies were also strong sellers, each mentioned by 12% of stores. 

The F-150 and Focus Sell Best at Ford Dealerships, Survey Says

With auto industry experts arguing that weak auto brands should go, Tickermine polled the Ford Motor Company this week. Twenty nine Ford dealerships around the country were consulted about which models were selling best, whether any truck deals were being offered and whether specials on free satellite radio were being offered too. The most popular models were the F-150 and the Focus. Each were cited 9 times or by 31% of those polled. The Edge and the Explorer were each cited 3 times or by 10% of respondents and the following were each mentioned once or by 3% of respondents: Aspire, Escape, Flex, Fusion and Taurus. Eighteen respondents or 62% offered no deals on trucks due to gas prices but 11 or 38% said they did. Fifteen or 52% reported having no specials on free satellite radio while 14 or 48% did, the survey said. 

Most Noble Roman's Pizza Restaurants are as Busy as Last Year, Survey Says

Noble Roman's Inc., the company behind Noble Roman's Pizza was polled by Tickermine surveyors this week. We asked after how busy the restaurants were and when, the cost of meals for parties of two, what attracts their customer base and their locations. Twenty seven restaurants were interviewed. Our report found that 16 or 59% were busier at supper and lunch was busier for 11 or 41%. Five or 19% reported that their location was new (i.e. less than a year old,) and 22 or 81% reported that theirs was older. Twelve or 44% of those polled felt that it was a particular menu item that attracted their customers, 11 or 41% felt it was the prices and 4 or 15% said the atmosphere. The average cost for a party of two at Noble Roman's Pizza was $22, our survey says. Six or 22% said their location was near a mall with competing restaurants. Twenty one or 78% said theirs was not. The Pepperoni pizza was cited by 12 people or 44% of those polled as the most popular menu item.
