Clarient Inc. (NASDAQ-SMALL:CLRT) (CLRT) named James V. Agnello senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective June 19.
The San Juan Capistrano, Calif., provider of technologies and services for cancer treatment said Agnello was most recently controller, chief accounting officer and division chief financial officer at manufacturing company Teleflex Inc. (NYSE:TFX) (TFX).
He replaces Jay Roberts, who was named interim financial chief in March, after the previous CFO, Stephen Dixon, left the company for another job. Clarient (NASDAQ-SMALL:CLRT) said at the time it expected to name a permanent financial chief by the end of April.
In addition to his compensation and benefits, Agnello will receive non- qualified options to buy 300,000 Clarient (NASDAQ-SMALL:CLRT) common shares for an exercise price equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of grant. The move is subject to board approval.
The company's shares closed Wednesday at a 52-week low of 91 cents, down 6 cents, or 6.2%. The stock reached a 52-week high of $1.95 on June 21, 2005.
