Interpublic Group of Cos (NYSE:IPG) . (IPG) said its first-quarter net loss narrowed to $ 62.8 million, or 15 cents a share, from $125.9 million, or 29 cents, a year earlier.
The New York advertising and marketing company said revenue rose to $1.49 billion from $1.36 billion, helped by foreign currency fluctuations and acquisitions.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected a per-share loss of 16 cents on revenue of $1.44 billion.
Interpublic said it remains on track to meet its 2008 financial objectives.
