KLA-Tencor Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS:KLAC) (KLAC) named Kiran M. Patel and Robert P. Akins to the board, effective immediately.

The San Jose process-control-services company said Patel serves as senior vice president and general manager, consumer tax group of Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS:INTU) (INTU) and Akins is a cofounder and the chief executive of Cymer Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS:CYMI) (CYMI).

KLA-Tencor (NASDAQ-NMS:KLAC) also said H. Raymond Bingham, who served as a director since August 2000, retired from the board, effective immediately.
