CRYOCATH INTRODUCES ARCTIC FRONT IN HONG KONG

CryoCath Technologies Inc. has introduced Arctic Front in Hong Kong. Arctic Front, the company's leadproduct for the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF), is a uniquecryoablation balloon catheter that allows physicians to safely and effectivelyisolate all four pulmonary veins in the treatment of PAF.

Dr. Ngai-Yin Chan, head of the electrophysiological department at thePrincess Margaret Hospital, Hong Kong, performed the first procedures onMay 28, 2008. Dr. Chan had previously attended the Arctic Front mastersprogram for the cryoballoon system in Bad Neustadt, Germany. Leadership ofthis program is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Burghard Schumacher and Dr.Marcus Koller, Herz-und Gefass-Klinik. Prof. Schumacher and Dr. Koller,co-authors of the Cryoballoon prospective three-centre study, are two of themost experienced users of the Arctic Front system and are responsible forhaving trained in excess of 60 physicians on circumferential pulmonary veinisolation with Arctic Front.
