Forward Air Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS:FWRD) (FWRD) named President and Chief Executive Bruce A. Campbell to the added post of chairman to succeed Richard W. Hanselman, who assumes the newly created role of lead independent director.

The Greeneville, Tenn., company said Thursday it also named Gary L. Paxton a director. Its board now has nine members.

The transportation and logistics company said Paxton is Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc.'s (NYSE:DTG) (DTG) president and chief executive.
