Sales Are Above Average for 47% of Ross Stores
In
a recent poll of Ross stores nationwide, TickerMine learned that sales
are above average for 47% of stores. Nine percent went so far as to say
sales are very strong. Forty-one percent of stores said sales are
average; only three percent said sales are below average. Seventy-two
percent of respondents said they have seen an increase in the amount of
merchandise their store had received in past months. When asked whether
the economy was causing an increase in business, 41% of stores said
they weren't sure. Twenty-eight percent said yes, the economy was
affecting business positively. An equal amount said the economy is not
affecting business. The top selling brand of women's clothes at Ross is
Misses Casual Sportswear (15%), followed by Hanes (9%).
Einstein Bros. Bagels Better Than Noah's: Employees
In a recent Tickermine survey, 48% of Einstein Brothers’ Bagel
respondents said they are not busier than last month, compared with 45%
in the April survey. Employees rated the bagels highly, with 100%
stating that they are better than Noah’s bagels. The most popular
breakfast item is the egg sandwich, mentioned by 21%, while the most
popular lunch items are the Panini sandwiches (52%).
48% Say Williams-Sonoma's Business Slower Than Last Year
48% of surveyed Williams-Sonoma’s stated that business is slower than
last year. According to 32%, less than 50% of their merchandise this
year is new. All respondents (100%) say that customers who have created
a wedding registry continue to shop at Williams-Sonoma after their
wedding. 82% say that many customers look at the Williams-Sonoma
website before coming in to the store.
Granite City Brewery: Economic Worries Have Slowed Business
60% say that worries about the economy have slowed business in a recent
Granite City Brewery survey. 27% of the locations survey had no wait
for a table while 40% had a wait of 20-30 minutes. 67% of the
restaurants had one or more weekly specials, yet only 60% felt that
weekly specials increase business. 27% stated that hamburgers are the
most popular item on the menu.
Breakfast and Supper Shifts are Dead at Sonic Drive-Ins
Sonic drive-in restaurants were recently interviewed by Tickermine. We
consulted 32 locations around the US and asked whether breakfast, lunch
or dinner were busiest, which menu items were selling best, whether the
.99c shakes were upping business and how long was this particular
location has been around? Three people or 9% of those polled said their
breakfast was the busiest time of the day. 12 people or 38% of the poll
declared dinner to be busiest but 17 people of 53% said it was lunch.
Eight people or 25% of those polled reported no spike in business at
all since the company offered $.99 shakes. But 24 people or 75%
definitely saw more traffic resulting from this campaign. The Sonic
Burger still remains the most popular item, according to 14 people or
44% of those polled. The $.99 shake came a close second (12 people or
38% of those polled). And the Island Fire Supersonic Burger was cited
twice or by 6% of those interviewed. Finally three people on 9% of
those interviewed said their location was new. Most people, 29 or 91%
of those polled, said the location was older than a year.
Quiksilver Sales Are Up As Summer Approaches, Retailers Unanimously Report
TickerMine surveyed stores selling Quiksilver apparel and learned that
across the board, retailers are seeing an increase in sales as summer
approaches. Stores surveyed included Macy's, Pacific Sunwear,
Nordstrom, The Buckle, and other boutiques. The most popular boys' item
is board shorts (47%) followed by t-shirts (19%). For girls, bikinis
(19%) and jeans (16%) are the top sellers. The average sales receipt
for Quiksilver products is between $50 and $75, according to 50% of
stores. Twenty-eight percent said it was between $80 and $100; 22% said
it's between $25 and $45.
