AT&T (T) and Yahoo (YHOO) announced that beginning today, the premier communications holding company will start featuring Yahoo oneSearch services made through AT&T’s on-deck Media Net portal.

Yahoo oneSearch which is designed for the needs of mobile user, through AT&T plans, will provide customers who search with access to news, financial information, weather conditions, Flickr photos and Web images, as well as Web search via the phone.

AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to integrate Yahoo’s innovative mobile search service directly into their portal. This announcement builds on the expanded strategic alliance the companies announced in January, where Yahoo will provide search and ad services to AT&T’s broadband computer, Internet TV and mobile phone customers. AT&T’s YellowPages.com will deliver local search information to customers as part of the new deal.

“Our customers want mobile search to be convenient and intuitive, and Yahoo! oneSearch is an important step for us in delivering that level of experience to them,” said Michael Bowling, vice president—Converged Services, AT&T.

Yahoo said it has announced partnerships with 60 carriers worldwide to offer OneSearch services on mobile phone networks with deals stretching across Asia, Europe and Latin America and serving over 750 subscribers.

Rival Google Inc (GOOG) is in talks with Verizon to become the preferred Web search provider for Verizon mobile phone customers.
