Former Senior Xilinx Executive Will Be Responsible for Accelerating Cavium's Growth in Key Market Segments

Mr. Vij brings to Cavium Networks over 20 years of senior level generalmanagement and marketing experience in the semiconductor business. He willreport directly to Syed Ali, Cavium Networks President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer, and will be responsible for accelerating Cavium's growth in keystrategic market segments through a variety of corporate initiatives.

Prior to joining Cavium Networks, Mr. Vij held the position of VicePresident of Worldwide Marketing, Services and Support for Xilinx Inc. Asthe longest serving member of Xilinx's executive staff, he was responsiblefor all of their worldwide marketing, business operations and supportactivities across all divisions, products, end markets, channels andgeographies. During his 12-year tenure at Xilinx, Mr. Vij was instrumentalin scaling Xilinx's business from under $600M per year to over $1.8B peryear and enabling it to become the industry's largest programmable logicvendor. As Vice President and General Manager of the General ProductsDivision, Mr. Vij had profit and loss responsibility for all Xilinx'shigh-volume products with responsibility for product planning, integratedcircuit (I.C.) design, product engineering, technology implementation,manufacturing strategy and marketing. Mr. Vij also pioneered Xilinx's verysuccessful vertical markets business by developing high-level intellectualproperty (IP) solutions for the wired communications, wirelesscommunications, storage, server, consumer, audio/video/broadcast,industrial, scientific and medical markets.

Prior to Xilinx, Mr. Vij spent five years in various senior roles at AlteraCorporation where he helped scale its business from under $80M per year toover $400M per year. Mr. Vij also currently sits on the Board of Directorsof Coherent Inc. (NASDAQ: COHR), the world's leading manufacturer of lasersand photonics for commercial and scientific research applications.
