RSA, the Security Division of EMC, Unveils New Two-Factor Authentication Advancements for BlackBerry Smartphones

RSA SecurID(R) Token for BlackBerry(R) provides direct access to BlackBerry Mobile Virtual Private Network, new provisioning options and tighter integration with BlackBerry Enterprise Server


ORLANDO, Fla., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2008-- RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC), today announced majordevelopments in its mission to deliver flexibility, choice and enablement inenterprise deployments of strong authentication technology. The new RSASecurID(R) Token for BlackBerry(R) smartphones, available in late Q2 2008, isdesigned to provide greater convenience to users and IT administrators, andfeatures more cost-effective deployment and management capabilities.


The latest fruits of the four-year technical relationship between RSA andResearch in Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) now allow BlackBerrysmartphones to be more easily activated and deployed for use as RSA SecurIDtwo-factor authenticators, and enable users to leverage enterprise wirelessnetworks for secure, no-cost access to corporate applications. RSA'sauthentication solutions, including the RSA SecurID Token for BlackBerrysmartphones, are engineered to assure identities and mitigate risk accordingto the value and criticality of the data, application or transaction.
