DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., June 3, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Aftermarket Technology Corp. (Nasdaq:ATAC) today announced at its Investor Day in New York City that it will now officially be known as ATC Technology Corporation. The Company will remain listed on NASDAQ and retain its current ticker symbol.

In commenting on the change, Don Johnson, Chairman and CEO, said, "The name Aftermarket Technology Corp. aptly described our product and service offerings and markets served at the time the Company went public in 1996. However, as our business has developed over the years, that name no longer adequately defines our offerings or our brand to our customers. We have grown predominately into a recognized Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Company with leading product and service offerings, while our Drivetrain business continues to be a leading provider of high-quality, high-value remanufactured products to the service parts organizations of our OEM and Tier-one customers. As such, it is now an appropriate time to change our name to reflect the future direction of our Company. The new name retains the 'ATC' moniker, which is well-recognized by our customers and maintains a link to our heritage, of which we are proud. ATC Technology Corporation captures the high-tech nature of our engineered solutions and service offerings provided to customers in both of our business segments as well as the higher-value products and markets that we now serve."

ATC Technology Corporation is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. The Company provides comprehensive engineered solutions for logistics and refurbishment services to the consumer electronics industries and the light and medium/heavy-duty vehicle service parts markets.
