PRESCOT-based outsourcing and IT services firm Vertex has completed its deal to buy US company Alliance Data Systems' utility services business.

The new lyacquired business provides billing systems and other outsourced services to utilities in the US and Canada.

It will become part of Vertex's own utility services business. The combined organisation will serve more than 70 electricity, gas, and water providers in North America.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, was announced earlier this month.

John Hall, Vertex's managing director of utilities, said: "This transaction creates an opportunity for us to only expand the client base."
