Aug. 5--HUMMELS WHARF -- Kohl's Department Store plans to hire 130 full- and part-time workers at its new location at Monroe Marketplace.

The company's announcement Monday adds to the slate of new jobs being offered by Target and Best Buy, two other retailers moving into the shopping center which is currently under construction.

The Wisconsin-based Kohl's will conduct a job fair Sunday, Aug. 10, through Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Hampton Inn, 3 Stetler Ave., near the new mall.

The hours of the job fair are 10:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Sunday and Monday; 12:15 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Target held a three-day job fair in July at the Union/Snyder County CareerLink, looking to fill 160 new jobs, with the goal of filling 17 full-time leadership positions and eight specialty positions. The fair attracted 600 applicants. The store will hold another job fair from Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 14 through Aug. 16, at CareerLink to fill 130 part-time positions.

Best Buy started its job fair on July 22 to fill between 50 and 70 jobs, about 10 of which will be leadership slots.

Other Monroe Marketplace stores planning job fairs at CareerLink include Red Robin on Wednesday, and Michael's on Dec. 7. Bed Bath and Beyond will host a job fair from Sept. 22 to Sept. 26 at the Hampton Inn.

Dick's Sporting Goods is another store under construction at Monroe Marketplace. Stores are expected to begin opening at the site in October.
