BENSALEM, Pa., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Law Offices of Howard G. Smith announces that a securities class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of all purchasers of the common stock of CIT Group Inc. ('CIT') (NYSE: CIT) between April 18, 2007 and March 5, 2008, inclusive (the 'Class Period'). The class action lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The Complaint alleges that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing material misrepresentations to the market concerning CIT's business and financial condition, thereby artificially inflating the price of CIT stock.

No class has yet been certified in the above action. Until a class is certified, you are not represented by counsel unless you retain one.
