pleased to announce that Eugene F. Moran, Jr. has joined its Washington
Operations as VP Government Relations for Maritime Programs.
Mr. Moran's position entails developing and implementing legislative
strategies to Congress and other federal agencies in support of DRS
Maritime programs.
Prior to coming to DRS, Mr. Moran served as Director of US Navy Senate
Liaison. In his role as Director, he coordinated all interactions between
members of the US Senate and the US Navy.
In addition, he has had an extensive military career at sea in the US Navy.
Mr. Moran commanded USS Laboon (DDG 58) and USS Philippine Sea
(CG-58), deploying both ships to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf.
Mr. Moran has complemented his sea duty experience with an impressive
record of service on Capitol Hill. As a Legislative Fellow for Sen. Thad
Cochran (R-MS), he was an advisor on national security issues and, more
recently, served as the Director of the US Navy Appropriations Matters
Office, where he developed and coordinated relationships between the Dept.
of the Navy and Congressional Defense and Military Construction
Appropriations Subcommittees.
Mr. Moran earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida
State University and a Master of Science in Financial Management from the
US Naval Postgraduate School. He also attended Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, Seminar XXI for the National Security Studies Fellowship.
