NCR, Blockbuster offer DVD kiosks
NCR Corp. and Blockbuster Inc. say they're teaming up to deploy "state-of-the-art" DVD vending kiosks in what eventually could be a national rollout of the units.
The kiosks will essentially be DVD vending machines, said Kelley Kramer, an NCR spokesman. Customers will be able to use credit cards to rent DVDs from the machines. Rental pricing hasn't been announced yet, he said. The first 50 machines should be deployed by end of the third quarter 2008, with the potential for a much broader rollout later, Kramer said.
