Veraz ControlSwitch and Media Gateways Provide Substantial OPEX and
CAPEX Savings
Veraz Networks, Inc,
(NASDAQ:VRAZ) the leading provider of Multimedia
Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization
products, today announced an expansion order with Bezeq, the leading
domestic, international telecommunications provider in Israel. Building
upon an existing deployment of Veraz’s ControlSwitch™
and the I-Gate
4000 family of media gateways, this expansion will enable Bezeq to
significantly reduce its operating and capital costs by migrating voice
traffic off its legacy TDM tandem network and onto an IP backbone.
Bezeq initially deployed Veraz’s ControlSwitch
to support local number portability (LNP) and mobile number portability
(MNP) services. Now, Bezeq will expand the use of the ControlSwitch
along with Veraz’s I-Gate 4000 family of media
gateways to migrate traffic off of Bezeq’s
existing TDM tandem switches onto a national IP backbone, greatly
reducing their on-going operating and capital costs and in particular
their real estate costs.
“The initial Veraz deployment has been
tremendously successful; we were able to rapidly enable LNP/MNP
requirements across our network,” said Yuval
Keinan, VP of Engineering and Networks, Bezeq. “Now
we can further leverage the power of Veraz’s
ControlSwitch and the I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways to continue
to reduce costs from using legacy equipment while we expand our network
capacity.”
“Veraz is extremely pleased to be able to
provide the benefits of the MGN architecture to the leader of the
Israeli market,” said Daniel Skinazy, Vice
President EMEA for Veraz Networks Inc. “Veraz
provides the roadmap for operators to complete the journey to a
multimedia-capable network, with network modification and expansion that
is easy to prove financially, through OPEX and CAPEX savings.”
