25-year Accenture veteran to oversee company's U.S. operations
Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has named Lisa Mascolo U.S. country managing
director, effective Sept. 1.
As U.S. country managing director, Ms. Mascolo, 48, will have primary
responsibility for Accenture’s business and
operations in the United States, including developing and executing the
business strategy and ensuring the company’s
growth within the country. She will also have overall responsibility for
the more than 33,000 Accenture employees in the United States, from
recruiting and compensation to employee satisfaction. She succeeds Ed
Fikse, who will be retiring from Accenture on Aug. 31.
Ms. Mascolo is currently group chief executive of Accenture’s
Public Service operating group, with overall responsibility for
Accenture's services to public-service organizations in the defense,
education, public health, human services, immigration, justice and
public safety, revenue and postal sectors globally.

Prior to being appointed group chief executive–Public
Service in August 2006, Ms. Mascolo was managing director of Accenture's
USA Government operating unit, with responsibility for Accenture's
Federal and State & Local business, which included more than 4,000
Accenture professionals, $1.5 billion in annual revenues and 100 client
organizations. Before holding that position, Ms. Mascolo was managing
partner of Accenture's US Federal Government business, with
responsibility for Accenture's business with U.S. Federal, civilian and
defense agencies and the United States Postal Service.
In 2005 Ms. Mascolo was named one of the 25 most influential women in
Washington in the Washington Business Journal's 2005 "Women Who
Mean Business" issue. She is currently president of the Accenture
Foundation, Inc. and also serves on the steering committee of Accenture
Development Partnerships.
Ms. Mascolo joined Accenture in 1982 and became a partner in 1996. She
has a bachelor of science degree in systems planning and management from
Stevens Institute of Technology.
