Aug. 19--GREENSBORO -- The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a homeless man whose body was found today outside a former furniture store building on High Point Road.
Shortly after 11 a.m., a worker with Duke Energy found the body outside the old Ethan Allen furniture store at 4710 High Point Road, said Sheriff's Col. Randy Powers.
Early indications are there were no signs of foul play in the man's death, but authorities hope to know more after an autopsy.
The body is that of a white man in his late 40s or early 50s, said Detective D.K. Jones of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office. He was last seen at some stores in the area about 8 a.m. Monday. The man had identification with him, but authorities have not been able to contact family members.
