According to the bank, the new branch is currently spotlighting absolute checking, ViewPoint Bank's new free checking account that pays up to 4% annual percentage yield with no minimum to earn interest and only a $100 minimum opening.

The Northeast Tarrant County branch is the first of two ViewPoint Bank retail branches to open in 2008. A full-service office in Dallas' Oak Cliff area is set to open in the autumn of 2008 at Illinois.

Rick Robertson, chief banking officer of ViewPoint Bank, said: "We've been looking to expand in Tarrant County for several years, so we're thrilled to open a full-service branch at such a great location. It's a fast growing area, and a full-service branch will certainly make it more convenient for the 900 ViewPoint households we already have in the area."
