(Source: Business Wire)trackingFibroLAN (http://www.fibroLAN.com), a leading vendor of fiber optic access systems for enterprise and service providers in metropolitan markets, has announced its new Falcon product line of Next Generation Networking (NGN) fiber optic Network Termination Units (NTUs). The announcement was made at the FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) Conference and Expo, where FibroLAN is showcasing the Falcon product line in Booth #825 with its distribution partner EMBARQ(TM) Logistics.

Israel Stein, FibroLAN's CEO said, "The introduction of the Falcon product line is a giant technological step forward, presenting to carriers an affordable solution that will address their needs into the future. In addition, the Falcon's multiple functionality allows great savings for carriers operating in more than one of FibroLAN's target markets. These savings are realized due to simplified Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM), Operational Support Systems (OSS), and logistic processes. The Falcon product line delivers the kind of top functionality and flexibility found elsewhere only in certain network switches offered by leading vendors that are far too expensive to be mass deployed as NTUs. This cost-benefit advantage makes the Falcon very attractive to carriers and enables them to be more competitive and profitable."

Based on state of the art technologies, the Falcon product line fully complies with the latest Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and ITU standards. The Falcon series benefits all market segments served by FibroLAN - Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers, municipalities, utility companies, and enterprise and government users.

"EMBARQ Logistics continually looks for products to give forward-thinking carriers a step up on the competition," said Brad Clark, vice president of Sales and Marketing for EMBARQ Logistics. "FibroLAN products bolster carriers' abilities to deliver Ethernet transport and services, giving them a cost effective, flexible and rapidly deployed solution."

As an NTU for carrier Ethernet services for business customers, the Falcon facilitates the delivery of multi Gigabit Ethernet (GE) services (14 services, up to 8Gbps bandwidth in total) to business customers requiring both high bandwidth and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and reduces operating expenditures (OPEX). This makes the Falcon a superb solution for carriers and service providers that offer Ethernet services over fiber to businesses and residential customers.

The "T" variants of the Falcon series mainly target wireless operators to fulfill their backhauling needs that are rapidly growing with the migration to 3G-4G and WiMAX deployments.
