L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has appointed
retired General Richard A. Cody as corporate vice president. Cody will
report to L-3’s corporate senior vice
president Robert W. RisCassi and will be based in Washington D.C.
“Dick has a solid understanding of defense
policy and priorities and will be an excellent resource for the company
as part of our executive team,” said Michael
T. Strianese, president and chief executive officer of L-3.
Cody, 58, served as the 31st Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Army. He held
this position from 2004 until his retirement from the U.S. Army in
August 2008. With over 35 years of service, Cody has served in command
and staff positions throughout the Army in the U.S. and overseas. He has
also received major military awards and decorations, including the
Defense Distinguished Service Medal.
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, Cody has completed advanced
military education coursework as well. He is also a Master Aviator with
over 5,000 hours of flight time.
