Oracle Corp., the world's second-largest software maker, has been sued by a closely held Australian company that claims Oracle is knowingly violating two patents with its database-management systems.
Financial Systems Technology (Intellectual Property) Pty. seeks an order barring any infringement, as well as unspecified damages, in the lawsuit filed yesterday in federal court in Marshall, Texas. Oracle is infringing with versions 8i, 9i, 10g and 11g of its management system, Financial Systems contends.
A representative for Oracle, based in Redwood City, Calif., didn't immediately return a call seeking comment. Oracle has operations in Utah, including at Jordan Commons in Sandy.
