EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Minister of
Council of Labor Affairs, Taiwan, Ms. Wang Ju-Hsuan presented a Pratt &
Whitney-led joint venture, Asian Compressor Technology Services (ACTS), with
two awards for innovations in human resources development practices. Pratt &
Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.
ACTS received these awards as part of Taiwan's 2008 National HRD InnoPrize
competition. The Taiwan Government established this competition in 2005 to
identify human resource development best practices and innovations from
companies and non-profit organizations. ACTS received the Leader Award, given
to individual business leaders that value and aggressively promote the
integration of human resources and organizational development into their
company's activities. The company was also presented with the Group Award,
given to companies for human resources innovation that helps improve their
business performance.
