Pamela Raley Joins Newsweek in New Position of Chief Revenue Officer

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Pamela Raley has joined Newsweek Magazine as Chief Revenue Officer, a new position. Raley will oversee the magazine's advertising sales teams, and will be responsible for all advertising revenue.

Raley is a seasoned sales executive with successful tenures at major media companies, including Hearst and The Walt Disney Company. She led teams who delivered consistent revenue growth and helped build traditional brands into digital powerhouses. She will be an integral part of Newsweek's expansion in the burgeoning digital news world.

'Pamela is a digital native who will lead our sales teams as we expand into the digital age,' said Newsweek Chief Executive Officer Tom Ascheim. 'With the help of Patrick Hagerty and Rhona Murphy (Newsweek's domestic and international publishers) she will help build expertise in the cross-media selling we have had so much success with in recent years and keep our print sales vibrant.'

Raley was Vice President of Advertising Sales & Marketing at Hearst Digital Media from 2006-2008. While there, she launched online advertising opportunities for the newly-created Internet division of Hearst Magazines. She also created the sales strategy and structure to support online and mobile advertising opportunities for a collection of 18 Web sites, including magazine and non-magazine sites. From 2006-08, she was Senior Vice President at Revolution Health Group, where she developed the consumer vs. pharmaceutical strategic partnerships for Steve Case's new start-up offering content, care and coverage.

From 1998-2005, she was Vice President, Advertising Sales & Marketing, Disney, FamilyFun & Movies at the Walt Disney Company, Disney Internet Group. In that position, she was responsible for a national sales team and all sales of Disney Online integrated media buys. From 1999-2001, she served as Director, Advertising Sales, and Senior Manager, West Coast, Disney Online where she managed a sales team handling Disney.com and Family.com.

Raley earned a B.A. in Political Science from Old Dominion University in 1985. She lives in New York.
