The industry is witnessing an increased migration to IP-based networks,
which enable operators to realize significant cost-savings and also provide a
platform for new revenue growth through next generation services. SIP-IX
enables the transition to IP-based networks by providing a scalable
cost-effective solution for interconnection between services providers.
The successful trial included extensive testing of provisioning of
telephone numbers and policy management. This policy control enables
customized route instructions to optimize cost, quality and service
capability, supporting new business models and relationships.
'We appreciate the opportunity to work with COMPTEL and provide innovative
solutions to enable ubiquitous VoIP interconnection,' said Michael Misheff,
NeuStar's Vice President of Converged Addressing. 'We are pleased with the
results of this trial and we look forward to working with the industry to
accelerate the migration to IP networks.'
