New Business Unit Created to Address Growing Government and Public Safety Market
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Harris Corporation
(NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology
company, today announced the appointments of three executives within the RF
Communications Division to address growth opportunities in new markets and
continue to extend its leadership position in tactical radio markets. George
Helm has been named vice president and general manager of the newly formed
Government and Public Safety business unit; Steve Marschilok has been
appointed vice president and general manager of the U.S. Department of Defense
business unit; and Hal McDougall has been named acting vice president and
general manager of the International business unit.
The Government and Public Safety business is focused on providing
high-performance radio communications products and systems to non-DoD
government agencies and public safety users. 'The formation of this business
unit signals our strong commitment to providing government customers with an
expanded portfolio of world class, full-spectrum communications capabilities.
It is part of our continuing effort to expand into adjacent markets by
pursuing new applications of the software defined radio technology that Harris

Helm will oversee sales, business and product development and other
functions serving non-DOD Government and Public Safety customers. He most
recently had been serving as vice president and general manager of U.S.
Government Products, where he was responsible for Harris tactical radio
business for U.S. Department of Defense and other government customers.
Marschilok will now oversee the sales, business development, product and
program management and technical customer service functions in support of
Harris RF Communications' U.S. Department of Defense customers. Marschilok
most recently served as vice president and general manager of the division's
international business and was also responsible for Harris Corporation's
International Government Systems business.
McDougall will lead the international tactical radio and integrated
systems business. Most recently, McDougall was vice president of the
International Programs organization and previously was director of UK
operations and director of European Sales.
