Office Depot ® (NYSE:ODP), a leading global
provider of office
products and services, today announced that the Company has been
selected by the State of New York to provide office supplies under the
State’s multi-source office supplies contract.
The contract will potentially service thousands of State of New York
Agencies and Political Subdivision customers, and will commence
accepting orders as of October 26, 2008. The contract will be fulfilled
through Office Depot’s Business Solutions

The State of New York Office of General Services (OGS) selected Office

business,” said Steve Schmidt, President of
Office Depot’s North American Business
Solutions Division. "This new agreement is a true reflection of Office
Depot's proven track record of supplying customers with the highest
level of customer service, integrity, and cost effective pricing that
will pass along savings not only to the State of New York, but
ultimately the New York tax payers.”
Office Depot has been an exceptional corporate citizen of the State of
New York since 1995, when the Company opened its first store in the city
in Westbury. The Company has a total of 16 retail locations and employs
391 associates in the state.
Office Depot initiated its first state contract with the State of New
