Carmichael stands out for commissioner

Editor:

As I view the candidates for the seat of outgoing Commissioner Cheryl Noah, I'm impressed with the qualifications of only one candidate for this position.

The only candidate that has the political experience, integrity and ability to be elected to this commissioner's position is Jim Carmichael.

Jim has lived his entire life serving the people of Wayne County. His experiences have included being the mayor of Shreve, chairman of the Republican party, and has been serving the past eight years as our state representative

The main responsibility of our county commissioners is to be the fiscal agents of our tax monies. Jim has had budgetary responsibilities in handling tax monies from the local, county and state levels.

Jim has worked with all of our elected officials and knows the needs of our county. He has promised to work within our county's budgetary limitations and will keep a balanced budget.

I hope you join me in voting for Jim Carmichael for county commissioner.

Believes Democrats responsible

Editor:

Unhappy with the bail out of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?

We have Democrats to thank. Under Clinton, Democrats wanted everyone to have the good life of owning a home, whether they could afford one or not. Banks had always red-lined applicants whose income status just did not support a real estate loan.

Janet Reno told banks to quit red-lining or be subject to several investigations. Banks were told to make such loans and that they could then sell them to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. They had no alternative. With acquisition of all the new loans Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's financial statements looked healthy and they were able to borrow more money to buy still more risky loans.

Officers reaped in big salaries and bonuses; gave money to Democrat organization and lived high until those bad loans began to default. Now the people responsible for the plight want to be put in charge of correcting it. With our tax money of course.

Different hand writing on wall

Editor:

Are you reading and hearing the same drum beat election media hype?

The reasons why we should vote Republican (McCain) and Democrat (Obama) to be the next president of our supposedly Constitutional Republic?

Let's see, Bill of Rights and Constitution for we the people, of the people and by the people? Come now, we are intelligent people, can we look back generations and examine why this two-party system has been the doom of our once great republic? Candidates on both sides of the isle (House and Senate) bought and paid for by international bankers, federal bankers, Wall Street, multi- corporations, wealthy power elite, special interest groups and their lobbies.

Question, is the Federal Reserve a government agency or a private corporation consisting of a cartel of banks? How many are foreign and American? Can it be that these powerful entities behind the scenes manipulate who will run for the presidency including some in congress and senate? Who has made it possible for corporations and companies to move off shore escalating the loss of jobs? Should we be troubled with higher taxes, inflation and devaluation of the dollar, loss of pensions or savings tied into the stock market? And why is the taxpayer bailing out foreign banks? Puzzled by gas and oil price manipulation?

Please read the "Energy Non Crisis, by Lindsey Williams." Lindsey was the chaplain on the Alaskan Pipeline during the construction and oil exploration in Alaska.

How many of us truly, honestly believe in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States of America? Which Candidate has made this their main focus for us, we the people?

Have you heard or read of presidential Constitutional candidate Chuck Baldwin? Mr. Baldwin opposes the concept of free trade, which has destroyed the average Americans good paying jobs, would place a 10 percent tariff on all imports and veto foreign aid that cripples America. Stop illegal immigration. Stop politicians from stealing excess yearly Social Security and Medicare surplus money and place all this money into a lock box.
